Abstract
The ballet comedy Psyché (1671) represents a real challenge for the methods of stylostatistics, since the play was written by four authors Pierre Corneille, Jean-Baptiste Lulli, Moliere and Philippe Quinault The various analyses refering to general vocabulary, distribution of occurrences within the text, vocabulary of the rhymes and sentence construction were meant to point out the characteristics in the style of each of these four authors Research proved however that at present one should not be too optimistic regarding the possibilities of authorship attribution The two chief authors of the play (Corneille and Molierè) are a convincing example of how classical authors were able to synchronize their style up to an almost incredible deg
